Johannesburg, 13 September 2018 – Social media has been buzzing with food tampering allegations against Wimpy I’langa Mall over the past few days, causing uncertainty amongst the public. As part of its processes, Wimpy Head Office along with the Franchisee and staff involved, met with the customer to discuss the allegations.
“We are committed to customer welfare and maintaining the highest possible food quality standards with every meal,” says Sarel Cilliers, Wimpy I’langa Mall Franchisee. The customer clearly had an unpleasant experience, and we will be taking action to improve in the areas of concern he identified.”
During the discussions, the customer clearly stated that what is currently being circulated on social media is not a true reflection of what happened in-store and that it has been turned into a sensational story. Both parties agree that the matter has been resolved and that no further investigations or engagement are required.
“I am very pleased with the thoroughness of the processes we followed and the outcome of the engagement between us and the customer”, says Cilliers.
*As agreed by Wimpy and the customer, his details will not be made public.
