Suspect nabbed for unlicensed firearm and ammunition

SABIE – Johannes Oosthuizen (56) appeared in the Sabie Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, May 8 on a charge of the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. He was released  on bail of R2 000.

The Mpumalanga Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit (Hawks) conducted an intelligence-driven operation in town and discovered the suspect in possession of an unlicensed firearm of which the serial number had been erased, as well as 64 rounds of ammunition.

The case was postponed to June 8 for further investigation.
