Stash of illegal firearms and ammunition lands suspect in hot water

MBOMBELA -  A 43-year-old man has been arrested at a farm on the outskirts of the city today on charges of  possession of a plethora of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, as well as the storage of illegal weapons.

The suspect’s arrest came after police had received information about an assortment of firearms - totalling 121 - and ammunition being stored at a house on the Uitkyk Road.  Upon investigation, police discovered a container filled with illegal firearms and ammunition at the premises.

The suspect will appear in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, September 19.
