Manhunt on for farm-attack suspects
WATERVAL BOVEN – The local police have launched a manhunt for six suspects who attacked a farmer in his house in the early hours of yesterday morning, April 14.
It is alleged that the victim, a 72-year-old man who lives alone, was asleep when he was awoken by the suspects, who wore balaclavas. Two of the attackers were armed.They requested money and firearms upon which the victim told them he did not have any. They then became violent and tied him up before ransacking the house. The robbers stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the safe, as well as a .38 special revolver and other belongings, before fleeing the scene on foot.
No arrests has been made as yet and police are appealing to anyone with information on the whereabouts or identity of the suspects to contact WO Raymond Mamaila on 072 023 1542 or the SAPS Crime Stop number on 08600 10111.
