Young man missing since Saturday
UPDATE - Dwayne Botes has been found.
According to information, the girl that was seen with him in Shoprite on Saturday came upon him in the donga near the Jock of the Bushveld Centre at around 12:00 and took him to his place of work. According to his father Dwayne is in a very bad condition and can not remember what happened to him.
Dwayne has been admitted to Barberton General Hospital.
BARBERTON - Police are searching for Barbertonian Dwayne Botes who turns 17 today (October 3).
According to his father, Hennie Botes, he last saw Dwayne on Friday at approximately 19:00 after which Dwayne left to spend the night at his mother’s house. Botes said as far as they could ascertain, Dwayne was dropped of at his workplace on Saturday morning. At around 11:00 his brother saw him in Shoprite in the company of a young girl, presumably a learner of Barberton High School.
Early this morning Botes opened a missing persons case at Barberton SAPS.
According to Botes other information which has come to light, but which could not be confirmed as yet, is that a man with whom Dwayne worked apparently pushed Dwayne around in an aggressive manner on Saturday, after which he tried to force Dwayne to get into a minibus-taxi. This man also allegedly threatened to stab Dwayne with a broken glass bottle.
Botes said as far as he could determine Dwayne gave his cell phone and bank card to the girl he was seen with on Saturday - apparent to withdraw money for him. At time of this story going online, this friend and her parents were not at home as no one answered when Botes, accompanied by the police, paid them a visit.
Botes was perplexed. He says they've been around to everyone and talked to all Dwayne's friends and acquaintances but no one knows anything about his disappearance.
According to information Dwayne was dressed in a bright orange Puma brand named shirt with a print of two Pumas and the words "Puma" in white on the front. He was also wearing a bright green jacket and possibly black shorts of canvas material or his blue overalls work trousers.
