Western Cape - Efforts to eradicate the scourge of violent crimes in our communities yielded positive results when members of Strand police arrested a male suspect for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Sercor Drive, Strand last night.

The members were busy with crime prevention duties when they saw a suspect who ran away when he saw police approaching. The suspect was apprehended and found in possession of a .38 special revolver and ammunition.

Once charged, the suspect will appear in Strand Magistrate’s court on related charges.
