WESTERN CAPE - The police have arrested a 26-year-old man on Friday afternoon as part of an investigation of the murder of five people, two of which were women, in Joe Slovo, Milnerton, the evening before.

Reports of two shooting incidents indicated that six suspects arrived at a house in Sekowa Street after 22:00 on Thursday. One armed suspect shot a woman and injured another. Later, the gunmen shot and killed three men and a woman in another house in Dada Street, not far from the first scene.

The arrested suspect is expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of murder.

As the investigation unfolds, more arrests are imminent.
