Community assists law-enforcers in apprehending alleged robbers

GRASKOP - Two men (aged 20 and 47) are due to appear in the Graskop Periodical Court tomorrow, August 22 on charges of possession of a firearm and attempted business robbery.

According to information at police disposal, members from Dientjie Police Station received information about a business robbery in progress at Matibiti Apara section. Upon police’s arrival, the suspects fled into the mountains. A chase ensued and the assistance of community members resulted in the apprehension of two suspects. One of them was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm while the other had to be rushed to hospital due to injuries sustained in the pursuit. He is currently recuperating in hospital under police guard.
