Businesswoman killed in cold blood

WITBANK - Members of the South African Police Service in Witbank are looking for an unknown number of men who shot and killed a prominent businesswoman, 43-year old Helen Fanourakis, before speeding off in her brand new vehicle.

Information from police reports suggests that the victim arrived at the gate of her house at Del Judor around 18:30 yesterday, March 31, when an unknown number of men suddenly approached and shot her twice. They fled with her vehicle, a Mazda BT 50.

Fanourakis was certified dead on the scene by paramedics. The bakkie was later found abandoned around Schoongeszicht, approximately 10km from the scene of the crime. 

Police are investigating a case of murder. They made an earnest appeal to anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation to contact Lt Col Simon Thobejane on 079-891-5845 or the SAPS Crime Stop number, 08600-10111.
