A head-on collision between an Avanza SUV and a sedan on the N11 Road between Loskop Dam and Middelburg, claimed the lives of three people at approximately 11:20.

The three victims, who all died on the scene, were occupants of the SUV.
Six others sustained serious injuries - four occupants in the Avanza and two in the sedan.

Paramedics stabilised the injured on the scene before they were rushed to hospital.
The cause of the accident is unknown at this stage and an investigation is underway.

Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Pat Ngomane wished the injured a speedy recovery and extended his heartfelt condolences to the affected families.

Ngomane also called on motorists to exercise due diligence on the road so as to reduce road fatalities.
