AMERSFOORT - A 41-year-old man, who is a municipal public office bearer at the Dr. Pixley Ka Isaka Seme Local Municipality in Volksrust, is expected to appear at the Amersfoort Magistrate’s Court today facing charges of corruption.

His appearance follows an investigation that is underway after cases of corruption were opened against him in November 2017, for allegedly selling RDP houses. The docket was taken to the Public Prosecutor for a decision and it came back recently with an instruction that he must be charged, hence the appearance. 

Police are urging people, who might have information that can assist with the investigation, to contact Sgt Samukele Hlasi on 079-996-0341 or call the SAPS Crime Stop Number, 08600-10111.
