MBOMBELA – Police are searching for a suspect with a severe injury to his private parts, who is alleged to have raped a pregnant woman.

The incident took place on January 8 at a plantation on the Spioenkop Road outside White River, while the victim was on her way to a nearby clinic with her five-year-old child. Two occupants in a white Toyota Tazz offered her a lift, but they then held her at gunpoint and forced her into the bushes. One of the men raped her at knifepoint in front of her child. According to information received, the woman managed to bite the private part of her attacker. The latter fled the scene and is still at large.

The local police have requested all health institutions and practitioners in the area to, should they encounter any such injury, contact Const Solly Mabuza on 082 730 7590 or call the Crime Stop number  on 08600 10111.
