SARS employee Symington's court application

Posted in News by Admin on 1 September, 2017 at 1:53 p.m.

PRETORIA - SARS has noted media reports that Mr. Vlok Symington has approached the High Court in Pretoria for a declaratory order and an urgent interdict against a pending disciplinary action.

Various media have approached SARS to comment on the matter. Please take note that disciplinary procedures against employees are confidential and deemed an internal matter.

Most importantly, SARS is not in a position to comment as the matter is before the courts.

However, SARS wishes to correct the inaccurate media reports that Symington is the head of legal services at SARS. Mr. Symington is a principal specialist in the division Legal Counsel.
