MBOMBELA – A 23-year-old suspect accused of murdering a police sergeant and fleeing the scene on July 13 this year, was remanded in custody in the Tonga Magistrate’s Court on Monday. Mduduzi Ndlovu allegedly ran the victim - who was jogging with his wife (also a police sergeant) - over with a car. Ndlovu came out of hiding last Thursday, September 28, when he handed himself over to police.

A preliminary investigation into the incident revealed that the vehicle belongs to Ndlovu’s wife.

His next appearance will be on Thursday, October 12, in the same court.
