AfriForum commences with clean-up project in Standerton
The youth wing of AfriForum’s Standerton branch recently launched a clean-up project in this town that comprises three phases. During the first phase – which kicked off on June 16 – the branch mowed the grass at the Vaal River Bridge. Phase 2 commenced over the weekend when litter around the bridge was picked up and removed. The curb stones were also painted to enhance its visibility. During phase 3 the island as well as the bridge’s railings will be repaired and restored.
“The Vaal River Bridge is used daily by hundreds of drivers and the maintenance is therefore very important. We will continue to address similar problem areas in the town,” says Hillel Coetzer, Regional Coordinator for Mpumalanga West.
“We are proud of our town and will endeavour to chance Standerton with every project we undertake into the beautiful town that it once was,” says Manuel Coutinho, Chairperson of the Standerton branch’s youth wing.
