Help police find ATM bombers
NELSPRUIT – A group of 10 armed men stormed into a local Spar Supermarket at Marapyane, next to Mmametlhake shortly after opening yesterday morning. They fired several shots at random while making their way into the supermarket. They blew up two ATMs inside the shop and took an undisclosed amount of cash.
The culprits then fled the scene using three motor vehicles suspected to be VW Golfs. Police opened a case of business robbery and are appealing for any information which may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators to contact Captain Jan Phofele on 079-499-5244 or the SAPS Crime Stop number 08600-10111.
This attack comes shortly after another one that took place during the daytime at the Bushbuckridge old shopping complex on November 1. This happened after four unknown men caring firearms entered one of the shops. One of the them was reported to have gone to the manager’s office while the others started ordering customers to go out of the shop. They allegedly demanded money. It was also alleged that they took an undisclosed amount of cash from the shop while the others blasted an ATM machine and also took an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects fled in two vehicles, a silver Mercedes Benz and a white VW Audi. Police have opened a case of business robbery and malicious damage to property. Police are appealing for any information which may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators to contact Warrant Officer Vincent Monaiwa on 082-054-2980 or the SAPS Crime Stop number 08600-10111.
