Covid-19 case among police members causes station to reassemble elsewhere
ERMELO - The police station advised the surrounding communities today that it will be temporarily closed due to one of its members having tested positive for the Covid-19 coronavirus yesterday.
The telephone lines at the Ermelo Police Station Community Service Centre will not be operational for the duration of the closure. However, service delivery will not be hampered.
The Community Service Centre will now be operated from the office of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit, near the police station, in De Clercq Str.
The public may in the interim call the following numbers for emergencies and complaints:
017-819-2673/4/5/6 or 017-819-2712. The station commander, Col Sdumo Ngcobo, may also be contacted at 082-922-9243.
The station building will be decontaminated and its services will resume normally from Friday July 10.
SAPS management apologised for any inconvenience.
