Police on the hunt for children's kidnappers
WITBANK – Members of the South African Police Service at Vosman near Witbank are looking for a gang of three unknown men who broke into a house and kidnapped two children in the early hours of Sunday, January 28.
According to information at police disposal, the trio broke a window and gained entry into the dining/sitting room of the house of a 50-year old woman, her children and grandchildren. Upon hearing the sound of the shattering glass, the woman and her 18-year-old daughter went to investigate. They perpetrators then pointed a gun at them and demanded them to be quiet.
The men then nabbed two children from their bedrooms, a 13-year-old girl and a 15-month-old baby, and vanished into the darkness. The two women reportedly tried to raise the alarm and members of the community started searching for the villains, The police were summoned and a manhunt for the attackers ensued.
Nothing else was stolen and the whereabouts of the children are still unknown. Police have opened cases of housebreaking and kidnapping and appeal to the public to assist with any information that might assist in locating the children and lead to the perpetrators arrest.
